Queen’s has many traditions stemming from its Scottish roots. The jacket culture thrives here, especially amongst Engineers, who make a habit of dyeing their originally golden-yellow jackets purple and slamming them on the ground, occasionally going so far as purposely throwing them in front of oncoming cars. There are also some hats with pom-poms on them that undergrads are given at the end of frosh week, called tams, and are worn to many major events including homecoming. Medicine tams are available for purchase at the Campus Bookstore.
QMed has it's own traditions, such as Medical Variety Night (a talent show across all 4 years), the Interview Video, the student mentorship program, class ski trips, and more! As the year goes on, you'll certainly see these traditions come up and have the chance to get involved.
