Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC)

Membership for the Queen’s gym is included in your tuition. Located within the Queen’s Centre, the ARC is a relatively new facility with new gyms, squash courts, dance studios, and a pool. The fitness and weight area is adorned with new equipment such treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes, all fitted with mini TVs. Some of our intramural games will take place here. The ARC does offer a laundry and locker service for an extra monthly charge, which gives you access to a locker and clean shorts, t-shirt, socks and a towel anytime you come to the gym, or you can rent just a locker for the year or use a day-use one. GoodLife Fitness Membership

If the Queen’s gym isn’t quite what you’d like for your workouts, we have a corporate contract with Good Life Fitness. There are two locations in Kingston: a co-ed club downtown at Barrack and Wellington Streets and a women’s club above Loblaw’s at Princess Street and Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard. On the ground floor, there are TVs in front of the cardio machines to catch up on Grey’s, and you might see some professors or clinical skills tutors pumping iron on the second floor. All of the classes are included in your membership, which goes for about $350 for a year and starts October 15. The GoodLife Fitness at Barrack and Wellington will be moving sometime in 2025 to a new location. Details on the new location and opening date are yet to come- stay tuned!
