Oshawa

Oshawa is the largest municipality in Durham Region, with a population of 170,000. It is located on the Lake Ontario shoreline, 60 km east of Downtown Toronto. Today, Oshawa is a hub for education, health sciences, and the automotive industry. In 2016, Oshawa was ranked the sixth best place in Canada to find full-time employment based on StatsCan data.

Oshawa is the site of Lakeridge Health Oshawa, which is one of Ontario’s largest community hospitals. As well, the Oshawa Clinic is considered the largest multi-specialty medical group practice in Canada.

In addition to Queen’s, Oshawa is home to post-secondary institutions such as Durham College, Trent University and Ontario Tech University. Furthermore, there is never a shortage of things to do and see in this city. Entertainment and sporting events are housed at places such as the Regent Theatre and Tribute Communities Centre. Downtown has more than 50+ restaurants and cafes to explore. Interested in arts, culture, or history? Check out the McLaughlin Gallery and Canadian Automobile Museum!
