This online community has been created collaboratively by faculty from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Our goal has been to provide resources for teachers who wish to include Interprofessional Education into existing courses for pre-licensure health professionals. Our project has been funded by a grant from HealthForce Ontario.

As you explore this site, you will discover four types of resources:
  • A series of fictional, media-rich, virtual patient cases,
  • Video vignettes of real professionals discussing and demonstrating their roles,
  • A variety of tools for teachers as well as links to modules with detailed content about specific IP competencies,
  • Social networking tools such as discussion boards enabling students and teachers to connect and learn together.
All of the patient scenarios have been situated in fictional communities, showcasing the differences in resources available to clients and patients in different geographical areas and in communities of different sizes, highlighting the importance of context in the assessment and care of an individual. Our project is a dynamic entity with ongoing development and reimagining of cases. If you are interested in participating in our development group or joining the conversation on our Teacher Discussion board, please email the LTWC team.
