Sophia’s daughters took her to the ER over the weekend because of her legs (infected ulcers), and the doctor there told her that unless her diabetes gets under better control, she might lose her leg.  She is very upset by this. She is on oral medications for her diabetes, and she has been told that there is nothing else she can take other than insulin.  She is terrified of needles, and has heard very scary things about insulin, including people passing out and dying.  However, she is also afraid of losing her leg.
