Once stable, “Jane” is transferred to “Bigtown” hospital for assessment and further management by the regional Trauma team.

Upon arrival in “Bigtown” hospital, following repeat primary and secondary surveys, radiographs and CT scans are performed which delineate a number of orthopaedic injuries and suggest no major thoracic or abdominal injuries. There is no intracranial hemorrhage identified. “Jane” is taken to the OR by the orthopaedic service for treatment of her skeletal injuries.

By this time, the police have identified her as Nadia Garcia, a first-year Veterinary Technology student at Middleville College.
