Welcome!
On behalf of the entire Class of 2028 and the Queen’s Medicine administration, we would like to congratulate you on receiving an interview invitation to Queen’s Medicine — or as we like to call it, QMed! What a major accomplishment; it's time to celebrate! The long nights in library study rooms, back and forth communication with your references, and hours spent stressing over OMSAS have paid off!
This website has been designed by the Class of 2028 to provide you with all the information you will need for your interview weekend. All of us remember our interview weekends well, whether it was online or in-person, and we know what helped make us feel more at ease before our interviews and what made us fall in love with the Kingston and Lakeridge campuses.
We know that this is yet another year of virtual interviews. Previously, we would be able to meet you in-person, give you high fives after your MMI, provide you with a tour of our gorgeous medical building, and show you the best of what the Kingston and Lakeridge campuses have to offer. Although that cannot happen this year, we will try our hardest to recreate the Queen’s Medicine experience for you through this website and the events that we will be hosting throughout the interview weekend.
We will continue to update this website with more information as your interview date approaches, including information regarding the events that occur during the interview weekend (outside of your interview time). Feel free to explore this website to find out more about the Queen’s Medicine program, the cities of Kingston and Oshawa, and our unparalleled student life. We recommend that you bookmark this page and visit it regularly to stay up-to-date. Any updates will be posted in the announcements section below.
If you have any questions regarding Queen’s Medicine, the interview weekend, or anything else, please do not hesitate to contact us at qmedinterviews@gmail.com. We are here to help and are tremendously excited to meet each and every one of you! Even if we do not have the answers, we can put you in contact with the person who will be able to give you the information you need.

Good luck! We can’t wait to meet you!
Your friends and future colleagues in the Class of 2028 :)
Hi everyone!
Thank you so much to everyone who attended our events this afternoon. It was great to connect with you and share with you why we love QMed.
We are hoping to gather feedback on the events today, so please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/m31FXaUwzqSb959f6
You do not have to answer every question or have attended every event; if you did not attend something, we want to know why! The form is also anonymous and will have no impact on your admissions process (we won't mind if you didn't like something!)
As we move towards panel interviews, please continue to check this website, as we will be hosting Dine with QMed -- a chance to virtually have your supper in a small group with other applicants and first-year Medicine students. The purpose of the event will be to create space for an informal discussion of the QMed program, academics, and student life!

Good morning everyone,
Hope you enjoyed the interview video! For those of you who missed it, you can find it linked under “Annual Interview Video”.
We have an awesome day of talks lined up, including upper-year students talking about their QMed experiences, a talk featuring our Associate Dean Dr. Piliostis, and a series of presentations about equity initiatives at Queen's Medicine. Please find the link to our Zoom webinar sessions under "Schedule". Everything kicks off at 10:30 AM EST.
I've gotten a couple of questions about this so just wanted to re-iterate: your attendance at these sessions is not mandatory. These are meant to be pretty laid-back and just to get you excited about our program!
Hope to see you there!
- Alexandra
Hello everyone,
On a less sappy note, I just wanted to let you know that the links to our Interview Video has premiered, and our Zoom panel sessions (beginning at 10:30 AM EST on the 26th) have been updated under the "Annual Interview Video" and "Schedule" heading, respectively.
Please click the hyperlink to enter each session. Give us a shout at qmedinterviews@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns!
Hoping you're all taking some time this week to relax.

Dear applicants,
Do you remember when we had to run?
The adrenaline searing through your veins, scorching your skin like embers and sweltering pain in your legs—the trials and tribulations of fifth grade gym class were too much to handle. You might be shocked to hear this, but I’m not the most athletic guy. Countless times have I questioned my own abilities, wondering why I couldn’t be taller, stronger, or as “good” as others were at sports.
When we grow older, we shed such trivial concerns, yet the same concepts linger. I remember sitting in front of my screen on interview day, stirring in adrenaline as I asked myself—am I good enough? The guy picked last for gym, who balanced multiple jobs while taking the MCAT, and so doubtfully filled his OMSAS. I was a compass gone haywire, at a loss with the direction my life would take beyond that moment.
Let me tell you this: you’re not supposed to know. It’s easier said than done, but it’s true. And it’s okay to follow a path different from others, and be a person different from them. Our classmates range from youth advocates, to research whizzes, phenomenal parents and, soon, people like you. Life is a marathon—people follow paths of varied lengths and directions to converge where we are now. But best be sure that all of us here are cheering you on at the sidelines.
Chin up soldier—you’re almost at the finish line. Congratulations on your interview.
