Functional Tests

Because the wrist, hand, and fingers are vital to perform activities of daily living, patients should be assessed for manual dexterity and coordination. It is important to assess their ability to hook, pinch, grasp, and maipulate an object. Ask them to perform simple tasks such as doing up a button, picking up a penny, or using a pen to write their name.
