- Watch the video of Mary and Debbie at their health practitioner visit. It is ideal to do this with at least some of your interprofessional team (some will be joining you virtually and so this will not be possible with everyone).
- As a group, determine what questions Mary is asking and identify which professionals are best suited to answer (may be more than one type of professional).
- Develop a response to Mary's (and Debbie's) concerns that includes input from all members of your IP team.
- You will be expected to present your group's response to the video during the SGL 6 session. This should be done as a role-play which can be either video taped (this is ideal) or performed live. You will have 15 minutes to present and 10 minutes to answer questions. This activity will be graded by your SGL tutor.
- Use these two sessions and this activity to reflect upon your role in patient care and the roles' of other health care professionals.
Patient-centred care
Each team will be split into two sub-groups for this activity. Your task is to learn about Mary, an older woman who has recently suffered a fall. You can access her story using the link below. Each student group may have already encountered parts of Mary's story already, in other courses. Your task for this session (and the related SGL 6 where you will present your team's work) is as follows:
