Community Initiative Project

Rationale:

To increase medical students' awareness about community health issues by:

  • Creating opportunities for medical students to learn about health and social services available in the Kingston community
  • Creating opportunities for medical students to learn about Aboriginal health and Aboriginal health services in the Kingston community
  • Creating opportunities for medical student involvement in these services, ideally in the form of observerships
  • Offering these opportunities within a time commitment that is realistically achievable for medical students


Position available! - Junior Coordinator
Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Senior Co-ordinator(s) in running community initiatives with partner organizations
  • To assist the Senior Co-ordinator(s) in conduction of the project evaluation
  • If necessary, to assist the Senior Co-ordinator in setting up new initiatives
  • To assume the duties of the Senior Co-ordinator when the Senior Co-ordinator leaves for clerkship
