Monteggia fracture
- Dislocation of the radial head + ulnar fracture. The most common pattern involves an anterior radial head dislocation in association with an ulnar fracture.
- Treatment depends primarily on the character of the ulnar fracture rather than the dislocation of the radial head as anatomic reduction of the displaced ulna will maintain the radial head in the proper position.
