Individually, and as a team, review the case study. As a team, discuss the following questions:

1. The OT who evaluated Grace focused mainly on functional capacity and musculosketal health in her assessments. Are there other aspects of Grace's functioning that could have been investigated? Why did the OT choose to assess these aspects of Grace's health?

2. Who is the client in this case? Why? How would working in a setting in which a client is receiving services that are funded by a third party agency impact on a therapist's clinical practice?

3. What special considerations should a therapist take into account with a client who requires an interpreter? What challenges may arise when a client's interpreter is a family member? How can a therapist ensure that he or she is providing the best possible services when working with a family interpreter?

4. Research the terms 'post-concussive syndrome' and 'mild traumatic brain injury' with respect to MVAs. Is it likely that Grace may be affected by this? What portions of Grace's story suggest this? What assessments would you use to investigate this potential further?

5. Briefly discuss return to work for Grace Yang. What indicators would suggest that Grace would be ready to return to work? Would she be able to return to the work that she was engaged in at the time of the accident? Would she require work modification or retraining? How would your team go about assisting Grace return to work if you were her therapist?
