Consider the case described earlier: Presentation A 25-year-old man is transfused with one unit of RBCs following a motor vehicle accident during which he suffered internal bleeding. Five minutes into the transfusion, he becomes anxious and begins to complain of chills, chest pain and a burning sensation at the IV site. It is noted that his temperature is rising and his urine is turning pink. Questions to consider:
