University implements continuity measures as members of PSAC Local 901 (Unit 1) strike

Despite best efforts, negotiations between Queen’s University and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and its Local 901, have not resulted in a tentative agreement to renew the PSAC Unit 1 Collective Agreement, and the union has elected to strike.

PSAC 901 represents approximately 2,000 graduate students who are employed part-time as Graduate Teaching Assistants, Teaching Fellows, Graduate Research Assistants, and JD/MD-enrolled students employed as Teaching Assistants at Queen’s.

The university has implemented continuity measures to ensure the university remains open and classes and other academic activities continue. All students can continue their studies, including attending classes. Anyone travelling to campus should give themselves extra time in case of delays due to potential picket lines.
