PT 861 - Assessment of infant gross motor development: Down syndrome
Practice scenario using the AIMS
- To develop working knowledge of the AIMS, we will consider the gross motor development of an infant diagnosed with Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome. Infants with DS show varying degrees of delays in development, having its roots in pre-natal development.
- Developmental delay is a descriptive term that is used to denote that a child's functional abilities have not progressed to a level appropriate for his or her chronological age.
