Sensitivity and Specificity
What is specificity?
Specificity is the ability of a diagnostic test to correctly identify the absence of disease. For this clinical example, specificity is the ability of the physical examination to correctly identify a normal sized thyroid gland. So, in order to calculate specificity, you will need to know the number of true negatives identified by the test divided by all patients without disease.
